Who would have thought that a real New Yorker (Brooklyn, actually) could enjoy a meal at that bastion of tourist-hood, The South Street Seaport?! But Gators on the pier part of the seaport is great! Southern seafood and other stuff southern. Yummy hushpuppys for free to start. Then blackened sea scallops on blue corn pancakes with a wonderful tequila vinagrette and a salad of baby greens. My friend had pecan chicken. Prices way under $25 for each! The view is incredible, and the place is very pretty. Romantic but not at all stuffy. Watch out that they close early until the serious tourist season starts. Anybody else been there?
