Gatip Classic Thai Cuisine -- Marina

I did a search on this restaurant and didn't find anything, so thought I'd share my experience.

I was in town this past weekend with my boyfriend and happened upon this little gem after spending a few hours at the Palace of Fine Arts.

It's a great little place (38 seats) owned by a Thai woman and her American husband. The husband, Ron Nelson was our server and he was a hoot. We love Thai food, so we just let him order for us.

The Tom Yum (can't remember the word for shrimp) was great with generous amounts of tender shrimp. I like thing hot, so this could have been a tad spicier for me. But it was yummy!

I had a roasted duck dish with red and green peppers and sweet basil. The duck was tender and melt in your mouth tasty.

The boyfriend had tiny calamari stuffed with ground pork in panang with peppers. It was really good, I've never seen that dish before.

And, of course, they served sticky nice which was done to perfection.

I'm not a Thai food expert, but I've had my fair share and this was excellent. (And cheap!) Everything, including 2 Singhas was only $42 including tax and tip! What a deal, I say.

I'd highly recommend it!
