Freezing hard cheese

I just bought some amazing hard gouda at Sam's. It has the consistency of parmesano reggiano with those crystal crunchy inclusions in it. They had it a couple of years ago and then it disappeared until just now. Do you think I could freeze a stash of this and preserve the quality? It is called something like "1000 day gouda".
