ok food at Pete's Indian Head Cafe

I was planning to drive into NYC yesterday and have lunch at Pearl Oyster, so when exigent circumstances (i.e., a big plan crash) prevented that, I decided to check out Pete's Indian Head Cafe in Branford. Not an adequate substitute, but our food was cheap and ok. We started with steamers, which were fresh but not as sweet as I like them. My companion had a caesar salad with blackened fish on top; the fish was good, although not spicy, and the caesar itself had good croutons, but didn't get the right vinegar/oil balance and didn't seem to contain anchovies. My lobster roll was also a mixed bag; on the one hand, there was a ton of lobster meat on a nicely toasted roll, but, on the other hand, there was too much mayo (you always wonder when the restaurant globs on the mayo) and--while I admit I should have asked--no sides. Nothing special, in other words, but not disaster.
