Follow up to steak ?? of last week (longish)

I just wanted to thank all of those who provided suggestions for my steak query of last week. I arrived in DC a little later than expected and after meeting up with my friend at his office around 9:45 and having to drop off my bags etc. we decided to have a drink while the dinner topic could be discussed. I had asked all of you for more of a steak house recommendation, and so when I mentioned all of the places that had been brought up here I got a not too shocking response "I've only lived here for a week, I haven't forgotten Luger's yet, I just want a steak, not a really a steak house." So I asked the bartender at the Belgium beer establishment in Adams-Morgan (that only served crepes) whose name escapes me where she might advise us to go. She had done a great job pulling a Fantome saison that was not on the menu out for us when the requested Sans Coulotte was not available so I sort of trusted her judgement. She said Bistro Du Coin, I had seen mention of it on this board when I was doing a little research before asking my question of you folks last week and said sounds good to me. We made our way over to this place on Connecticut and maybe 18th (being a simple NYC resident the third dimension of the state streets left me never exactly knowing what direction I was heading in) pretty boisterous but not too much so, the space sort of reminded us of the Mort Subite in Brussels a bit, and the breeze blowing in through the open front was quite nice. We started with the duck leg confit served with tasty fried potatoes, it was fine, nothing to write home about but good anyhow. The steaks I guess we should have gone to a steak house if we wanted steaks or maybe I should stop ordering hanger steak. I thought that this was a bistro staple and yet I am always disappointed, flavorful indeed, but it just never has the feel in the mouth that I guess I'm looking for. Never again. My friend had the au Poivre and was satisfied. $4 draft beers and the ability to smoke made up for my disappointment with myself for continuing to order things that do not make me happy. It may not have been the best that DC has to offer, but I was quite happy with it being that we walked in around 11:30 or so. Thanks Again for all of your replies.
