If you are headed out west then Flint Hill is a quaint Virginia "village" with a great restaurant and inn. The Public House has been renovated under new owners and management and is great place to eat, stay or just hang out in a great backyard (with hammocks and mountain views). Our suite (sleeps four) was on the backside of the building, so we had an incredible sunset. Our room was pet-free, but understand that they accommodate pets in the other three suites. The food was outstanding and the chef came by and asked us how we wanted our steaks (awesome flavor). The next morning he was back and fixed us breakfast (not included in room rate). We spent the afternoon at various vineyards and surprised to learn that some of the wines we sampled were also served by the Public House. The restaurant is filled with artwork, but the big attraction is the steel bull sculpture out front. Check out their website (and more photos) at www.flinthillva.com.
