We're locked into The French Laundry for lunch on Sunday and we have Danko reservations for dinner on Saturday. We have at least two more dinners to fill. So, now where?
In the lead so far is Chez Panisse, even though neither of us is sure that the style and philosphy behind the food is a good match for our tastes. But among the options, it seems to be the most often recommended by critics, family members, etc. However, with its 30 day policy, we might need a backup anyway.
For dinner, we're looking for places that hopefully push the envelope on creativity and excellence. Food taste and creativity is the most important thing, followed by presentation, probably followed by service, and then decor. Price is not an issue for this trip at dinnertime. We'll be saving money by focusing on ethnic foods during the day and staying with family. btw, we're not big seafood eaters and we don't drink alcohol.
So, excluding Danko, FL, and Chez Panisse, what are your top 5?
