We joined friends at Fish yesterday. In short it was truly wonderful. You enter the restaurant into a small alcove there they greet and seat. Next to the entrance is a nice bar. It is right next to the door so it will probably get a bit chilly come winter.
The dining is in another room. It's lovely and the tables are reasonably spaced. For apps we had the crab cakes, oysters and potato leek chowder. All were wonderful. The crab cakes in particular were amazing. A large cake will all crab and no detectible filler over a bed of potato in a nice sauce. Sorry I can't be more specific I didn't get all the ingredients.
For an entree I had the skate over truffled spaetzle and creamy leeks. OMG This is my new go to restaurant dish. Everyone else seemed equally pleased with their dishes.
For dessert I had the banana bundt cake with caramelized walnuts. Fabulous. Others had the goat cheese cake. They enjoyed it.
When the dining room was full it was bustling but still fine for conversation.
Two minor negatives. The bread was really ordinary. Probably a good thing since I will be able to resist it in the future. Also, one of the servers tried to deliver another party's food to our table.
Otherwise all was exceptional. Dinner came to $140 per couple including one bottle of wine split for four.
