Go to Montreal every September; usually just follow carswell's advice. :) Too many choices this year, though, especially looking at his awesome list from earlier this year. Please help determine our 3 dinners?
We love Quebec produce, meat, and fish and restaurants with interesting wine lists that are heavy on France and not the US. Prefer French-based establishments (hence, not trying Jolifou or Tapeo) since we can get some of the other variety in the US but often not inspired, French-influenced cuisine. Anyway, we love Joe Beef, so that's one. Think we're convinced to give Au Cinquieme Peche a whirl, so that's two. Was going to go with Garde Manger as the 3rd, but we're bringing our 6 month old, and I understand he's not allowed :( (he's very, very well-behaved, but alas...). Should we try La Porte? Trois Petits Bouchons? or go back to Club Chasse et Peche which we haven't revisted since we went when it first opened? (La Chronique might be a little more than we want to spend this time, and we just went to APDC.) or should we not miss something else? We really just want a delicious meal with some memorable dishes and an all-around enjoyable experience.
Thanks in advance!
