figs - not so good

alas sylvia g was correct (when she reviewed it earlier this summer and said she had a bad meal). We had been goign to figs alot this past winter and spring (it's right around the corner) and absolutely loved it everytime.

We'd taken a little time off from it (not because something was bad, but once the weather got nice we were a bit more free to explore outside our own neighborhood). We went back sunday night and it wasn't very good.

First of all none of the staff/chef seemed like they wanted to be there (everything seemed like an imposition, never had service like that there before). Second, it was 6:45 on sunday night and they were out of OVER 1/2 of their menu.

So we selected from what was left. We split the tuna app (that at least was still excellent), i had the sshrimp spring roll app and the smoked salmon app, both were just eh. Hubby had the salmon entree. It sucked. First it was supposed to be salmon charmoula, and they ran out of charmoula so it was just polain baked salmon. Second (and i didn't notice till he was almost done cause i was eating my own). But it smelled REALLY fishy (i would have sent it back, but it took a good long while to arrive, so i guess he was just too hungry). I informed the waitress, and she said "yeah i noticed that", gee great. So not only was it really plain, it was probably on it's way to going bad.

They were out of bean dip for the bread, we had to beg them to open our wine or refill our water. The best part of the evening was the ice cream cones we bought on the way home :(

made me sad, i loved that place! we'll give it a month or 2 and give it another try (i'm holding out hope it had something to do with the holiday weekend), but i wouldn't recommend it anytime soon.
