Feeling Lazy in Fairmount?

I was never a fan of small markets, but Klein's Market in the rear entrance of the Philadelphian, on Fairmount between 24th and 25th has changed my attitude.

Very fair prices for a small market; excellent quality meat, butcher service if you just ask, and a marvellous line of in-house prepared foods that I have come to depend on. Shepard's Pie, Chicken a La King, Meat Loaf and Mashed Potatoes, Squab stuffed with bread stuffing, or wild rice stuffing, stuffed shells, barbecued chicken, London Broil with Wild Rice, Pot Roast with mashed potatoes; homemade soups sometimes--the list goes on. For $4.99-$5.99 you can't beat the value and quality--most portions will serve 2-3 people.

Because I live in the building I shop there every day, but if you live near Fairmount, give Kleins a try. VEry unassuming looking from the outside, but helpful service. Neat deli department. Not much fancy for dessert, but good breads from LeBus.
