Greetings from New York! I need to organize three work dinners for 20 chowhounds, ideally near the Presidio area or Hotel Del Sol (forgive me if this area has a different name, I don't know SF at all). I have the following suggestions so far, but wanted to run them by you.

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Rachel

I would second all of the "not expensives" and would add

Little Nepal (not sure how many they could accommodate, but well worth asking...incredible affordable food, lovely atmosphere, of the beaten foodie path). In Bernal Heights

Firefly in Noe Valley - cozy, favorite local restaurant with yummy adventerous food, large enough to do groups, small enough to hear yourselves think...

Would also list some different "mediums":

Foreign Cinema (even though I am persona non grata there now...still a great meal to be had, and wonderful for groups)

Tallula - squeezed into an old victorian, lots of stairs up and down and hidden rooms, delicious Indian fusion cuisine, great atmosphere, but NOT loud, bar downstairs, around the corner from Castro and 18th (on 18th) - (Sarah, I would rank this as my Indian slightly more hip version of Alma, in the Castro)

And you have already been to Alma and Baobob....

Yes, all are good choices. I would add Pane e Vino on Union, they have an outside area now, can take bigger groups and have really simple good Italian.
Also a couple of new places on Chestnut...A16, wonderful, hard to get into, medium priced, has also an outdoor area...you may be able to book a large party there.
And Lux, pretty new place by the chef from Isa, more Vietnamese in flavor...fun spot.
