I often eat something wonderful and mean to post it on Chowhound then forget. Well I've had two standout treats recently and wanted to quickly share. Please chime in with your dishes you've had that are memorable
1) Teo's Salted Almond Chocolate gelato. Holy mackeral. Chocolate and nuts and salt are a worthy combination and to form them in gelato is close to heavan. Teo's is one of Austin food gems and if you go, I hope they have this particular gelato.
2) Lucky's Puccias porchetta special puccia. Lucky's has not been opened for too long and I've only recently visited this food trailer next to Tiniest Bar in Texas (5th & Bowie near Whole Foods downtown). Their fresh wood grilled bread is outstanding. I am tempted to call it the best bread I've had in Austin. Warm and chewy with a great flavor from the grill. The ingredients were porchetta, argula, tomatoes and melted cheese (maybe fontina?). This food cart has plenty of potential for revisits. Their puccia with with Peanut Butter and Nutella sounds wonderful. Hours are eclectic. Monday-Wed for lunch, thursday-sunday for dinner at various hours.
