New favorite casual spot in the metro area - Commune Cafe

Hey! I am so thrilled to have found a family-friendly, food-conscious eatery a few blocks from where I live. Right on the corner of Seymour and Nelson is a brand new cafe with a rather forgettable name. Commune Cafe offers organic, local foods at very reasonable prices. The menu is a bit limited, but what I have tasted is delicious. They have sandwiches and paninis, salads, and...I guess I would call them tapas. You can even get a plate of cheeses from Les Amis du Frommage with cured meats from Moccia. I paired that with a market salad, and a cider from the Okanagan. Ah-MAY-zing! They have a nice list of local wines and beer as well as your regular cafe offerings. Don't be turned off by the "order at the counter" organization of the place. The service is really fantastic. The staff helps you find a seat, take your drinks, and makes sure that everything is to your liking. There was really no downside for me or any member of my family, little ones included. They have a few kid's dishes such as cheesy pasta or a simple mozzarella panini. All said, it was a great experience, and I am so happy that such a place exists - and right around the block!

P.S. They have an sweet patio, perfect for those last few summer days. Cheers!
