Went to Fantasy restaurant.
As Charles is one of the people on this board who's recommendations have always been spot on for us.
It was an adventure.
First, they take cash only, so be prepared.
Secondly, armed with the recommendations we prepared to order.
Spotted live prawns are not on the menu, but I saw them in the tank, so we managed to order them.
Whole bass, steamed, no problem.
The chicken took about five minutes to figure out, but we did.
Veal ribs, they had no clue what we were talking about, nor did they understand chili beef, which also was not on the English menu.
We finally gave up on the two dishes, and ordered razorback clams in Black bean sauce, and snow pea greens.
This was at least fifteen minutes later
We started with hot and sour soup.
The fresh prawns were worth the trip, delightful, and the Bass was very large, and perfectly steamed.
The chicken was cold, almost had us thinking that it had been refrigerated. The sauce was hot, so the combination was a bit weird.
We liked the food, as it wasn't wet, which is my biggest complaint with many Chinese restaurants around
The service was excellent, and all the staff were so genuinely nice.
Our friends enjoyed the food, but were not sure they would go back because of the long drawn drama of ordering.
We will go back again, as they have an excellent choice of fish, and did bend over backwards to please us.
