Best Fajitas in SF?

Jeni Bean (Formerly Richie Richmond) | Apr 26, 2005 03:23 PM

Yes, I know there is no "standard" for fajitas often and that some concider charred little bits of meat fajita meat, but I am talking more about a proper tender steak cut in to strips post (preferably mesquite) grilling. Served with warm flour tortillas and grilled oinions/peppers is a plus.

The BF and I are going to be celebrating our 5th Anniversary on 5/5/05 and our customary dinner was at a place in D.C. called Cactus Cantina. We have yet to find an even CLOSE second to their fajitas. Went to Tommy's recently and BF had the carne asada which was good...but not GREAT (plus they only gave him 2 tortillas, is that stanard?)

Good margaritas are appreciated but won't make or break the evening.

So that is my request. Suggestions greatly appreciated! We are mobile but would prefer to stay in the City as I am studying for finals and don't have a lot of time for a commute. I know there is always Chevy's, but I am not sure how their fajitas are (yes I understand that our anniversary is Cinco de Mayo). Are Chevy's fajitas still good? Haven't had them since I left CA 8 years ago.

Thanks! JB
