Fairfax Scoop... wonderful!

Andrew Copeland | Aug 30, 2005 09:46 AM

I know most people know about it, but the Fairfax Scoop does deserve some more recognition. Some of the flavors I had over the summer were amazing. A breakdown of the flavors I tried:

Honey Vanilla Lavender - WOW. I never tasted an ice cream that could actually layer flavors, at least until I tried this one. It starts off with a nice bit of lavender, transitions into a mellow honey flavor, and finishes with a smooth, creamy vanilla. Some of the best ice cream I've ever had.

Strawberry - Think of strawberry sorbet, the fresh kind that has a wonderful fruity crispness to it. Add some cream to it, and you've got the Scoop's strawberry ice cream. A little on the sweet side (for me), but it's still quite good.

Chocolate - A good version of chocolate, not great. Granted, I'm not a fan of chocolate ice cream, so try it for yourself.

Try it yourself! Definitely worth going to. I already miss the Honey Vanilla Lavender...
