Just wanted to share with other chow hounds a terrible experience I had with Faidley's in Baltimore and to caution against using their mail order service.
I've read numerous reviews of how good their crab cakes actually are and was excited ordering them for my sister in law's birthday party.
I phoned Faidley's early in the week to place the order and anxiously awaited there delivery Friday. I had them sent to my office since the gentleman at Faidley's said they had to be signed for.
At 5:00PM Friday I still had not received the crab cakes so I phoned Faidley's back. Spoke to a gentleman who said he would find out what happened and call me back. He never did. I called again about two hours later and was told that the gentleman had left for the day. I phoned again this morning only to be told that I must have given the wrong address. We confirmed that Faidley's did in fact have the correct address. Faidley's said if UPS verifies that my address exists they will reverse the charges on my credit card, if not I will have to eat the $80.00 (for four crab cakes).
I find it hard to believe that it was really UPS's fault. The building I work in is the Hyatt Washington Center which has been around for what, the past ten years???
Anyways, just a heads up - go to the restaurant but don't order via mail order - they have virtually non existent customer service!
