Excellent sushi on the UES (review)

Last night, my friends and I (all from Japan) went to this new sushi restaurant on the upper east called Inase. It's a new place, not many people know about this place unless you lived around there.

Anyway, the food was SO good, and while I want to keep this whole in the wall place my little secret, I would want them to have good business, I'm going to share my experiece with this board.

We were five of us, and we ordered a lot of items, so I won't go into details, but every single thing was very good. The sushi chef is Japanese (of course), and he made us beautiful sashimi platters. Rolls were very good too - not the huge hard pressed rolls you get at Monster sushi, they were perfectly sized, and perfectly rolled - the rice is held together just hard enough so that it won't fall apart...

Cooked items were also delicous. The chef who's in the kitchen (different from the sushi chef) apparently has spent 20 years on Queen Elizabeth II being in charge of japanese food.

Wait staff is friendly and service excellent.

I definitely have to go back there.

I highly recommend this place for good sushi.
Oh, reasonable, too.
