Our first dinner in Santa Barbara was at Olie e Limone. The dining room is very small yet intimate and cozy. We brought a bottle of a special Pinot Noir from Oregon with us to dinner. A Rex Hill Reserve that was very nice with dinner.
We started with the Insalata Primaverile, a bed of mixed greens with grilled eggplant, roasted bell peppers and goat cheese. Excellent and there was no problem putting the split on two plates which was very nice.
For my entree I chose the Pappadelie al Sugo di Quajlieu d Funghi which is a wide ribbon pasta with quail, sausage and mushroom ragu. The entree was absolutely excellent and just what I was looking for. Service throughout the meal was very attentive and when the server found out it was our anniversary, he brought out a very nice pear dessert with vanilla bean gelato with a candle that was complimentary.
I would highly recommend Olie e Limone to anyone looking for an outstanding meal in SB with moderate prices, beautiful ambiance and attentive service. Bon appetit! Oh, the chef coming out to our table to chat was a very nice touch that I enjoyed very much. ***kim***
