EVOO tasting menu

I heard from friends that EVOO holds a weekday tasting menu for only $50 so I had to go check it out. To summarize: totally worth it! Advertised as 7-courses (it was actually 8), this is an awesome value. I'm definitely going back.

Course 1: Cornmeal fried oysters with goat cheese fondue and apple-bacon salsa. Great combination of textures and temperatures.

Course 2: Smoked rabbit confit, frisee, watercress, port soaked cherries and toasted pecan salad with shaved Vermont cheddar and grain mustard - rosemary vinaigrette.

Course 3: Country pate with homemade rosemary infused concord grape jelly, whole grain mustard, cornichons, French sea salt and grilled bread. Love that fat!

Course 4: Seared orange-ginger marinated Yellowfin Tuna with sticky rice, kimchee, mango and asparagus – tofu salad. Fabulous! Great combination of spice, texture and flavor.

Course 5: Chinese box full of mustard glazed shrimp, sesame-hoisin braised ox tail, gingered vegetable cashew salad and jasmine rice. Easily my favorite dish. LOVE the ox tail!

Course 6: Duck, Duck, Goose. Duck confit, seared duck foie gras, slices of goose breast, lentils, French beans, escarole and sherry-ginger sauce

Course 7: Cheddar cheese with prunes soaked in armagnac

Course 8: Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate. Chocolate-chocolate bread pudding with chocolate-espresso cream and minted chocolate whipped cream.
