Had dinner at Erwin last night and was very impressed. The host and server were very friendly.
Appetizers - Hubby - Beet salad - refreshing with a thin layer of marscapone and toasted hazlenuts. I had the smoked trout roll, which was smoked trout wrapped in a cilantro pancake. It was a bit dry, and could use a bit more of the garlic mayonnaise that came with it.
Dinner - Hubby had the calf liver that came with creamy, garlicky mashed potatoes. There was bacon that came with the calf liver. I am not a liver fan at all, but this was very tender and tasty. I had the duck leg/thigh and duck basil sausage that came with chickpeas provencal. The leg/thigh was pretty good, nice and crispy skin, meat was pretty good, slightly dry. The sausage was tasty, very flavorful and rustic. Loved the chickpeas, they came with olives, tomatoes, zucchini and some feta cheese as an accompaniement.
Had a very nice argentinian malbec/cabernet/merlot blend.
For dessert we shared the peanut butter mousse cake that was amazing. Very light, with a bit of a chocolate layer on top with whipped cream on the side.

Overall an excellent dining experience all around and we plan to go back.
