Had dinner at Emerils in Buckhead a few nights ago -- not quite what I have experienced at his other restaurants in Vegas or New Orleans.
It's all what you order of course, and I found the gumbo to be nothing special, as was the Flounder special. What bothered me more about the place was the sub-par service.
I hate it when a hostess makes you wait at the bar for 15 minutes even though you have a reservation. The fact that they wouldn't put my bar bill on the dinner check was more annoying still. The $12 glass of cabernet was just so-so.
The waiter was just plain WEIRD. Aside form the overt flirting (I'm staright and he apparently was not), he maintained this goofy look on his face the whole time. It's not the first experience of thyis sort I've had in the area (can you say Buckhead Diner?!), and it did put me off my food.
The bread came out late, the water glass was not re-filled, and they were out of my favorite dessert.
Not a horrible meal, but hardly a memorable one. I think Emeril can do way better.
