Those Elusive French Lentils - Where In SoCal?

OCKevin | Jul 8, 2007 09:12 PM

Nearly every lentil recipe I've tried has called for French lentils as opposed to the more conventional kind you can find in most grocery stores. I checked our local farmer's market, Trader Joe's and even Gelson's. Nothing doing. The times I've had French lentils have all been when traveling out of the country. They are green, as opposed to copper or golden colored, and have a little more herbacious taste (although, frankly, substituting conventional lentils didn't leave us feeling deprived on those recipes). Can anyone give me a tip on where to find French lentils around town? Thanks in advance.
