Looking through some old PA Chowhound posts, I saw a mention of Elmer's from 2000 and thought---boy, we oughta go back!
It's a shame that this corner bar had abandoned a full dinner menu years ago, because what food they still serve is quite satisfying.
We went with the the day's non-menu specials, a spicy corn and potato chowder with spinach. Wonderful---spicy and full flavored. (Also offered was a pineapple beef terriyaki soup!).
The three cheese artichoke (soft) tacos sounded odd, but with a little persuasion from the Mrs. we both ordered---and it turned out to be a great combination. Four per order ($6.50) were quite filling.
With great beers on tap (trappist ales, IPA's for us) and solid burgers to fall back on when we don't like the night's "specials" (two soups or two salads/platters), Elmer's is back in regular rotation for us.
