I read some mixed reviews of St Basil previously, mainly indicating that it was overpriced, but very good.
Went there, and after some confusion due to a name change - it is now El Manantial, had an excellent meal. They said they have lowered their prices some (I had not been there before, so can't verify it). The dinner entrees are in the $13-$22 range, and lunch in the $11-$15 range. My grouper filet with lobster sauce was of a good size, cooked perfectly and the sauce was very tasty. Other items we tried were a warm mediterranean salad, with mussells, calamari, shrimp and scallops and a meditterranean fettuccini with sausage and vegetables. All were skillfully done. The desserts were fantastic as well - creme brulee and a very good chocolate mousse - dark, rich and heavy.
The service was very warm and friendly; there are five siblings who are partners in the business, and cover manager, waiter, pastry chef and head chef duties. We talked with a couple of them and they were very friendly and enthusiastic about the restaurant and about our meals.
