Edith's Gourmet Baking Co of Modesto sells at many Northern California farmers markets. Check their schedule on their facebook page
Today they showed up at the Friday Richmond Farmers market selling day old baked goods from the Thursday markets. Loaves of bread were $2 or two for $3. This is a fabulous bargain given their bread lasts so well.
They use real ingredients with no preservatives.
I got the cranberry multigrain bread and the sliced French. There were lots of samples of everything.
That cranberry bread is terrific. I can't stop eating it. It doesn't have that multigrain taste. It is a soft bread with lots of dried cranberries, walnuts, sunflower seeds and lots of good stuff. The French is a nice dense soft sliced bread. It makes excellent toast and I'm thinking it would make great, well, French toast.
I really liked the sample of the jalapeno ciabatta roll. The pumpkin bread and banana bread was ok. Reading yelp it seems the chocolate zucchini bread and flax seed bread are favorites. And I turned down samples of those because they didn't sound exciting ... next week.
Quite the deal if you are in the Richmond area on Friday. Very nice people at the stand.
Link to restaurant record since the actual bakery is outside the Bay Area
