Eatonville above U St. on 14th is yet another excellent place to have brunch in DC. Very lively, but not so crowded that we needed reservations. Reasonable prices.
I had the hash and eggs which where potatoes,bacon, and jalapenos under a couple of poached eggs that were (I didn't think this was possible) breaded and deep fried. I am amazed this worked so well. A filling dish, reasonably priced too (I paid a dollar extra for some hollandaise sauce). The catfish here is also excellent, few places can make it as well. It comes with killer grits and some greens that had a touch of balsamic sweetness too much for me, but actually not bad for the genre.
An app of fried green tomatoes was nice. We also ordered lavender lemonade which was a nice touch though nothing great.
I would return here in a flash.
