OK, this is the dilemma. It is my sweetie's birthday in a few weeks, and my Dad offered to take us both to Chez Panisse to celebrate. The problem is that The Most Wonderful Woman in the World is one of these soft-hearted types who doesn't eat the cute little animals, which by some logic (fuzzy logic?) includes things that have legs but not things that have fins. A "vegaquarian," if you will.
So, the problem w/ Chez Panisse is that there's no telling until a week in advance what they'll be offering, but of course you can't get a reservation only a week in advance. I know, she could ask for the vegetarian option, but she's kind of picky and often doesn't like vegetarian fare.
So, we're going to go somewhere else. But where? If you could go anywhere in the Bay Area because Daddy was footing the bill, and wanted a truly exquisite meal with plenty of fishy options, what would you choose?
