East Bay Seafood House, Largo

During the past week, I have eaten twice at the East Bay Seafood house which is on East Bay Drive just west of Belcher Rd. The location has seen many, many different restaurants try to make a go of it and fail. I seem to remember that it started out as a Clock restaurant back in the beginning.

They have quite a variety of fish and other seafood including some northern fish such as walleye and perch. It is available fried, broiled and possibly blackened.

The couple I was there with last night both had the all you can eat fish dinner which was priced at $6.99. This includes fries and cole slaw. I had the fried haddock. It came with soup or salad and a starch or your choice. Well, all the fish was fried in a very light batter and was very good. We asked the waiter what fish is used for the AYCE and he said it would be either pollock or cod. And with the amount of fish that came with the first serving of the AYCE, there was no need for seconds.

While I would like to get fish grilled sometimes like I do at Mid-Peninsula Seafood in St. Pete, I was quite happy with everything at East Bay. Plus if you make it in before 6 PM, there is a list of about 10-15 dinners that are available on a two for one deal.

With a free glass of wine, because we had a coupon from the paper, two ice teas, the three dinners, our bill with tip was $32. Not bad in my book for a seafood house.
