Durian cake

Just wanted to alert any die-hard durian fans out there that I stumbled upon an incredible cake at a bakery in Little Saigon. The place is called Van's (in the shopping center across from the giant mall-food court) and in their case is something called "Durian Coconut cake" that is awwwwesome. They actually fill the layers of what seems to be ordinary yellow sponge cake with chunks of creamy durian meat, along with slivers of fresh young coconut. The icing is nothing special, neither is the actual yellow cake for that matter, but because the durian is so strong it completely overtakes the whole thing and makes it another sensation altogether! I have tosay that the young coconut adds a nice solid texture to the "puddingness" of the durian. MMMMMM.

Try it!
