Jut had an awful meal at Dumpling's Legend, new place from the Leong's Legend crew.
Granted we didn't eat many dumplings, but everything was borderline inedible.
Vegetable xiaolongbao were gelatinous, but tasted OK (meaning edible, but would preferred not to have eaten them).
Spicy beef noodle soup was uggh.... they used beef shin meat cut in the worst ways possible, some pieces lined with hard tendon, others covered in layers of slimy something -- i literally wouldn't know how to buy this meat if i were to ask a butcher.
Beef curry was saltier than licking salt -- and horrid otherwise. Large bits of spices, leaves, and other undelicous crap mixed in with, again, cheap meat cut in strange ways.
The only ok dish were the chinese greens w/garlic.
The place gets good reviews (as do their sister restaurants), and i honestly think whoever writing them has no idea how Chinese food is supposed to taste. London Chinese is generally subpar so its understandable people are excited by new places with regional styles, but ewwww!
