irish pubs are my new obsession. after living in the posh south end for a while, i really rejoice in the idea of going to a neighborhood bar with character, great food, cold beer and good deals.
james's gate is a favorite of mine. (i went there twice for cheeseburgers last week!) but what about the other JP pubs. doyle's has a good reputation - but for their food? or only as a good place to get beer?
what about costello's on centre street? is it as grimy as it looks on the outside, or is it a gem?
