Six dollars for soup lunch? Opinions please...

So earlier this week, I stopped at the Soup Pot on Broadway just north of Diversey for lunch. I had a large size chicken & dumplings soup, and it came with a hunk of bread. The bill was $5.98.

The soup was definetely good, homemade and fresh, but not a lot of chicken to be sure.

And I had to wonder whether $6 was a little steep for a one-item lunch without a lot of anything substantial in it.

What do others think... is this too much to spend or is it fair value for what is received?
