About a week ago I decided to make a resv for the HOTTEST Bar in LA. I was lucky enough to have a very connected friend (JW) get us a resv for SIX people , corner table.
Irene happened to review it in the LA TIMES yesterday and was right on the mark about many of the experiences we had last night.
The food was amazingly good. Special Tasting Menu:
Seared Ahi over Tomatoes
Chickory wrapped Lobster Tail
Pasta with Marinara & Veal Tripe
Seabass w/ Foie Gras
Colo Rack of Lamb
Six different deserts which we shared followed by Dolce (wine).
You can really detect the Valentino-Primi influence in the food( the Chef used to work there). The only down side was the sound level in the room, almost Rock Concert level. Don't plan to talk , just eat! Service was very good, I recognized one of our waiters who also works at Valentino.
