I'd be interested in assembling, for everybody's benefit, a list of dishes at restaurants that require ordering *prior* to arrival at the restaurant.
-- Danube: Various "favorites" require 48 hour notice, and have a 2-person minimum. This includes entrees such as: Pennsylvania Squab Breast Enclosed in an Artnichoke Heart, Black Perigord Truffles and Wild Mushrooms; Boiled Beef "Kavalierspitz" served with traditional garnishes; Gently Heated Atlantic Salmon with Styrian "Wurzelgemuse". Apppetizers in this category are Warm Maine Lobster "Grostl" with Milk-Fed Veal Tavioli, Hudson Valley Foie Gras and Pinot Noir Sauce.
-- Ex-Lespinasse (presumably will resume at Delouvrier): There is a special chicken dish that must be ordered at least a day in advance. This is one of the dishes I must try when it is available.
