Dinner at Tsuruhashi

NinoHB | May 1, 2004 01:01 AM

I just met up with a friend and had dinner for the first time at Tsuruhasi Japanese BBQ in Fountain Valley. We got there at 8 and were seated right away. Most of the clientele I noticed were Japanese with 1 or 2 non-Japanese tables at any time. We ordered the following plates:

Rib eye (2)
Boneless shortribs
Marinated tounge
Pork
and a bibimba with a bowl of soup

The meat was tasty and I especially liked the texture of the marinated tounge. The vegetables that came along on the plate with the meats seemed a little dried out, but the no complaints about the meat itself. Bibimba wasn't bad, but it was missing the crispy burnt rice on the bottom. We didn't drink, so the bill came out to less than $35. That's awesome! I couldn't believe how inexpensive it was. The M-Th family specials advertised on the wall look like great deals too, both with large plates of meat. The A combo was $15 and B was $20. I think I'll get the B for myself next time :) I live less than 10 minutes away, so I'm gonna hit this place up regularly.
