Dinner near Papa Hadyn?

free sample addict aka Tracy L | Aug 15, 2010 08:02 PM

I am visiting Portland for a day and a half and would like to end my evening at Papa Hadyn for dessert. I also need to pick up some provisions at TJ's for the rest of my trip. I'd like to keep dinner somewhere between $10-15 or if there is good place for even less I am game. Alcoholic beverage not included. I have pretty diverse tastes, I love sushi, Chinese, Mediterranean (N. African, Middle Eastern etc.) and Thai food. I like French and American comfort food (hamburgers, fried chicken, mac and cheese). Though I like Mexican, Indian and Italian it is not usually something I seek out on vacation as I eat a lot of it at home. I am flexible with my schedule, I tend to eat early so happy hour and early bird specials would work out nice. But I could eat later too. Additionally I am taking public transportation. In the past I've enjoyed Mother's Bistro, Andina and Wildwood. BTW are there any magazines with restaurant reviews and other tourist info that is geared for the more hip/edgey chowhound? Thanks
