Finally had a chance to try 12th Avenue Grill in its new location at the former Victoria Inn site. Although I really liked the coziness and atmosphere of the smaller original restaurant, the new place is larger, fresh and appealing decor wise. The restaurant was almost full, so It was a bit noisy, but not uncomfortable the way Roy's in Hawaii Kai can be with it low ceiling.
After a round of drinks, we ordered the smoked ahi bruschetta, the mixed green salad, a small plate of pork ravioli for my wife and the grilled Jidori chicken for me. Everything was tasty and well done.
The smoked ahi was a delicious appetizer, my wife and I joked how it was an awfully expensive tuna salad on bread. The mixed greens were fresh and tasty, just how a good salad should be served. Her ravioli was good, but nothing outstanding. The grilled chicken, served on a bed of spinach and mashed potato was excellent. The chicken had a nice char, was cooked to the bone and still juicy and flavorful with a delicious sauce.
Service was prompt and professional with just the right amount of local friendliness. We enjoyed our meal here and definitely plan on returning again soon.
