A Philadelphia chowhound, I'll be in SF for work for 3 evenings in April, dining alone. Can range a little on Sunday, but don't want to go too far Mon/Tues (will be working until 7 both nights)

I fell in love with Anjou, and it sounds like Belden Alley might be a nice alternative within walking distance. Anything one restaurant there which would be better for a solo diner?

Love sashimi and inventive handrolls - what's my best option within hiking distance from the Handlery hotel?

Any other suggestions for French, Italian or Japanese that isn't too loud or rowdy, and won't make our accountant have a heart attack?
