I've been reading lots of other posts and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. While I've been to New Orleans several times before, I haven't been since Katrina and I'm not sure the places I knew before are the same...
We are staying in the French Quarter (Royal Sonesta) thanks to my conference and its great hotel rates! I need to show my fiance the real, delicious New Orleans and I need a suggestion for a good, inexpensive place for breakfast/coffee, a similar inexpensive/authentic place for dinner (with lots of seafood), and the best, place for brunch on Sunday - price is not an issue, but we'd prefer someplace we can go in jeans.
In all cases, we appreciate suggestions in walking distance of the hotel. We are able to walk - so that doesn't have to be next door. Also, we want authenthic local food!
Thanks for any suggestions you can provide!
