We're coming to Scotland next month for what will be mainly a walking holiday, so what with the boots and the rain gear our luggage is already becoming cumbersome. If we want to try a great restaurant in Edinburgh (Wishart, Ktchin), will my husband also need jacket and tie, or will a crisp shirt and trousers do the trick? And for women? Stockings and close-toed shoes? Even when you follow the weather forecast, it's hard to picture 20 degrees when you're in the midst of a 34 degree heat wave.
Maybe we should stick to more modest places for this trip and come again for the starry restaurants . . . what do you think?
