I finally got a chance to try the Taiwanese dim sum at Shangri-la. I was not disappointed. We had four people and we were all impressed. First, the salty soybean "soup" was wonderful -- nicely flavored with tidbits of spicy preserved radish. The sweet soybean drink was also yummy. The turnip cake triangles were just right, with turnip taste, and similar to those my mom used to make for Chinese new year's. The XLB soup dumplings were juicy and tasty, the scallion pancakes also good. A particular favorite was the pan-fried beef bao. We liked everything we ate and will go back again soon. The only down note was the service, which was a bit surly, bordering on rude. If they could only get their service up to the level of the outstanding food, this would be a five-star place.
