Detroit trip reports ends with a rave: Priya Indian

My best meal in Detroit last 8 days on my last night. Take out from Priya Restaurant 72 West Maple (off Stephenson Highway:15 mile/Maple) 248-269-0100 Madison Heights area. This is good food all the way. Ordered Spinach pakora, Vegatable samosa, Lamb Vindaloo, Onion Dosa, Allo Palak, Raita & pickles. For just under $40 I got enough food to feed 1 person for 3 days. 15 containers in the order(!) Writing this they are still in front of me. Spinach pakora are good dipped in tomato chutney. A coconut yogurt dip. A very light vegetable dal dish. Raita. Spirited tomato onion chutney. Home-made mango pickle. Lemon pickle. Lamb vindaloo very well spiced and tender meat. A nice plain spinach. Coriander mint chutney (large tub of). Plenty of rice. Nan. HUGE onion Dosa. Friendly service and just good food here. It was very quiet so go give 'em some business instead of some hideous chain which are much in evidence around there, as in my opinion they truly deserve it. For the price a heck of a deal and the quality is really nice. Enjoyed this meal more than any in recent visit. (Canada's most lethal poutine included.)
