Can anyone help? When we lived in Victoria, we had several amazing choices for breakfast. People would regularly queue up to eat at places like Mo:Lé, Shine Café, Blue Fox, etc. Since moving to Ottawa, we've been unable to find a similar spot... something fun with character, friendly service, great food that offers more than just your standard eggs, homefries, etc. (And please, don't suggest Cora's...we ate there...once.)
Here are a couple of items off Mo:Le's menu to give you an idea of the kind of thing we're looking for:
Chinatown Dragon Bun
Sweet Chinese Sausage, Julienne Onions and Peppers, Avocado, Spicy Chili Bean Sauce with Cream Cheese Scrambled Eggs On a Whole Wheat Bun with House Aioli Served with Pesto Hash Browns. 11~
Two Eggs, Any Style, Organic Frijoles Piquante Rojo (Spicy Red Beans) and Goat Feta Cheese, Set Atop Two House Made Corn Tortillas, Fresh Lime, Avocado, and Cilantro Served with House Made Salsa and Roasted Apple
Cream Cheese Scrambled Eggs, House Bacon, Fresh Basil, Roasted Red Pepper, Havarti Cheese and House Aioli on a Buttermilk Biscuit served with Pesto Hash Browns
Can someone enlighten me? Is there a place in the capital region with similar offerings, or do we have to go further afield?
