I had a good meal at this place several weeks ago. Got there early in order to catch a movie across the street at the Tivoli. It so happened they have an early bird menu between 5 and 7. What luck. I didn't know what to expect in terms of food since it seems to attract the 20 something, self-consciously-trying-to-be hip, martini/cosmopolitan drinking crowd.
Well the meal was above par and a good value-3 courses for $20. A cream of potato soup topped with a bit of bacon and scallion was nicely done. Salad comprised of field greens and not over dressed-as is often the case here in STL. My pork chop with sauteed apples and calvados was good, but my dining partner's stuffed beef filet was the real winner. It was especially plated well with several large spears of just right asparagus, some kind of spiked, mash potato pancake, and a thing or two I can't recall. Definitely a worth while place.
