So I've been using this service lately - you can get take-out from almost any restaurant (or anything for that matter) in downtown Toronto now from a service called "Hurrier" (www.usehurrier).
They don't charge any markup from the restaurant (other services add 50-25% and(!) a delivery fee(!!)), and only ask for a delivery fee, using bike couriers for their runners (environmentally friendly, too!).
They then send you a copy of the bill from the restaurant, and update you via email as to the progress of your order (accepted, confirmed, picked up, delivered). I've used them 6-7 times now over the past three weeks. Customer service and the deliveries have been great (with some minor hiccups, as can be expected), and is typically quite fast as well.
I used to loathe using Order-it, so much so, that I finally cancelled my account outright more than a year ago, and haven't really had any food deliveries since. This is a much, much better alternative. I really like what these guys are doing. Friendly, personal, fast service.
I've used them for a number of restaurants, but they've partnered with Electric Mud, Bahn Mi Boys, Grand Electric, and a few other places, specifically. I've even seen orders from Harbour 60... (there is a banner that displays the most recent orders, without any personal details).
Anyway, I can't say enough great things about these guys. I love having this service available - and there's nowhere they *can't* deliver from as long as they do takeout. The possibilities are endless! So exciting! ahhh!
