Decent Cheap Sushi--Jimisan (Inner Sunset)

went to jimisan last night and i was really impressed with the value. the quality of the sushi was fair to good (not the most expertly cut, some of the flavor was flat, but all the pieces were fresh). however, for $15.95, you get 10 large nigiri (maguro, albacore, hamachi, tomago, ebi, sake, smoked salmon, unagi, halibut, fluke), a gigantic california roll (laugh, but you know you like it . . .), and a gigantic spicy tuna (which is not filled with chopped scraps, but is instead large pieces of maguro). i don't usually order sushi plates or even maki, but it seemed like a good deal, and it was well worth it.

also ordered seawood salad and karaage to start. both were on par with other places, good but nothing exceptional. the seaweed salad was a bit cold, and the karaage was served with a finely chopped egg salad, which i thought was odd.

the gf ordered chicken udon, which i thought was fine, but the portion was huge (almost an x-large pho bowl size).

all in all, if you have a craving for japanese, and you want to eat a lot for a cheap price, and you are not expecting something spectacular or particularly unique, this is a good place to check out.

anyone else been to this place?
