b-day dinner: omakase choices?

hi everyone!

i'm choosing a place to eat for my birthday next month with my family and have a few ideas but don't know which to choose.

i'm planning on eating in LA area and wanted more like a japanese set menu dinner. here are a few that i've found:

- Wakasan (1929 Westwood Blvd)
- Yabu Restaurant (521 N La Cienega Blvd)
- Matsuhisa (129 N La Cienega Blvd)
- Katsu-Ya (11680 Ventura Blvd)

there's not really a limit to the pricing as long as the food is good enough to be worth it.
i was reading through a few posts and i guess what i'm looking for is *kind of* like "omakase"...i'm not looking for all sushi or sashimi though. a variety is nice :]
and decor-wise i'm not that picky. as long as the place isn't too overwhelmingly noisy then i'm pretty open.

so my question is which of the above 4 would you recommend and why? and if there are any other suggestions please let me know!! thank you all very much! i really have no clue which to choose ><

edit: i'm not sure if this will help..but the last place i went for omakase was at Thousand Cranes in the Kyoto Grand Hotel in little tokyo (used to be New Otani). i'm kind of looking for that type of set menu. thanks again!
