I'm thinking of dropping by Daniel's for a nosh. But, perusing their menu (see link), I don't understand the "supplements" they seem to be charging "extra" for. For example, if I order the Citrus Marinated Fluke with Cumin, Coriander, Hearts of Palm, Shiso Cream and Lemon Crème Fraîche, there's no supplement. Same with the Gulf Coast Red Grouper Braised with Yemeni Hawaij Spices Smoked Eggplant, Sweet Peppers, Raisins, Tomato Marmalade and Olive Panisses. But if I order the Niman Ranch Lamb Loin Crusted with Meyer Lemon Confit, Saffron Braised Shoulder with Artichokes, Fava Beans and White Asparagus, well, hell, there's a $15 'supplement". Want to choke down the Tuna Tartar with Oscetra Caviar Crisp Cucumber and Watermelon Radish Wasabi and Cured Lemon? That's a $29 supplement. Got a hankering for iranian Beluga? That's a $260 supplement. What the hells a "supplement", other than an "additional charge"?
